Waxing 101

The best waxing experience possible, following are the tips for the best result.

BENEFITS OF WAXING

  • Waxing saves you money.
  • Silky smooth skin.
  • Safer than shaving.
  • Perfect for sensitive skin.
  • It changes hair drastically.
  • And it saves you time.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • My treatments last only 15-30 minutes, depending on the area you need waxed.
  • I carry a wide variety of premium soft and hard waxed that are carefully formulated to customize your skin care.
  • It's recommended to be wax every 4-5 weeks but it can vary from individual to individual.
  • No double dipping.

BEFORE WAXING

  • Use a sugar body scrub about 2  days beforehand so that there isn't any extra dry, dead skin hanging  around that can make it harder for the wax to grab hair.
  • Soak in a warm bath for about 30 minutes before the appointment to helps soften your hair and relax your pores.
  • Do  not use peels or microdermabrasion on the waxing area up to 24 hours  prior to receiving a skin wax, also notify your technician if you are on  any medication that may make your skin prone to sensitivity.
  • Take an over the counter pain reliever an hour before your waxing so as to temporarily reduce pain and sensitivity.
  • It's  best to allow a quarter inch of growth before your visit.  Allow at  least 3-4 weeks between waxing and/or shaving.  This makes for a cleaner  wax, and reduced tweezing.
  • In cases where your body hair is very long, it's best to trim it down so that the waxing is more comfortable.
  • I suggest you avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hours before your wax, the caffeine can make your skin extra sensitive.
  • If needed, you may apply numbing cream about 30 minutes before your appointment to help dull the pain.
  • Your  skin is often more sensitive the time near your period, and waxing can  be more painful than normal. I highly recommend for you to wait until  after your cycle to get wax.
  • Do not use a sun tanning bad or go sun tanning 3 days before a body wax.
  • It's  important to remove any perfumes or lotions from your skin prior to  waxing, and we suggest thoroughly washing and drying your skin in order  to remove any residue.

PRODUCTS TO AVOID

Some products are contra-indicated for  facial waxing.  Please check with your doctor prior to your appointment  if you are using any of the following:

Accutane,  Retin-A, Differin, Renova, Salicrylic Acid, Avage, Apricot scrub,  Neutrogena scrub, Avita, Strivectin, Tazorac, Pro-Active, Benzoyl  Peroxide, or any other topical or oral medications that may effect the  outcome of a waxing treatment.

AFTER WAXING

  • Flight the bumps, ingrown hairs and infection with Nufree Finipil or PFB Vanish.
  • Keep hands away from touching freshly waxed skin, as this can encourage irritation or small pimples.
  • Keep the waxed area clean, and try to void using harsh cleansers or creams for 24 hours after your body waxing treatment.
  • Do  not expose your skin to sun, hot tubs, sauna, swimming, suntan booths, exercise or sexual activity for at least 24 hours after your wax.
  • It's  best not to exfoliate the skin for 2-3 days after your wax.  I suggest  you exfoliate regularly after the procedure to help prevent ingrown  hair.
  • Try to avoid shaving between your wax, as shaving causes the hair to become very coarse.  Coarse hair can be difficult to wax.
  • Do not apply deodorant to newly underarms waxed or use products containing alcohol after facial waxing.
  • I  suggest you wear plain cotton underwear after your waxing procedure, as  lace or un-breathable materials can cause irritation in the area.

STAY SMOOTH !
